CAF recently released a list of approved facilities that will be used to host the 2023 Africa Cup of Nations qualifiers in July, August, and September this year. In Botswana, Obed Itani Chilume Stadium has met CAF’s requirements.

Knipp was welcomed by Tuelo Serufho also the Chief Executive Officer of Botswana National Sport Commission (BNSC), Olebile Sikwane, Head of Competitions and Operations for the Botswana Football Association, among other key stakeholders.

Once again last year BNSC CEO Tuelo Serufho told Weekend Post Sport that they are going to continuing leasing stadium to different events to try to maintain them.

“We are going to continue leasing our facilities to churches and music concerts. If we do not host such events, we are going to fail to maintain these facilities and end up playing in our neighbouring countries” – BNSC CEO Tuelo Serufho speaking at the ongoing BNSC Press Briefing
