Lobatse based Club Extension Gunners has relegated to Debswana First division league for the first time in their football history since it was established in 1962.Gunners is at the bottom of the Botswana Football league having collected 14 poits out of 27 games it has played .Mapantsola played 2-2 all draw on Saturday with Township Rollers in Lobatse Sports Complex.

Speaking to Media post-match, assistant Coach for Township Rollers Oarabile “Demba” Seabo expressed disappointment at dropping more points in the draw with Extension Gunners, but was pleased with the experience gained by the under 20 players in the starting line up.

“We went a goal up, conceded and after we regained our lead, at 2-1 in the second half we had a few chances to kill the game.

But we continued having the problem of failing to convert; which has been a challenge all season. We have had too many draws and that is unacceptable, we will keep working on our conversion rate.

We were confident we could win with the team we put our there, and indeed we created enough to have won the match. But we will take the point and focus on preparing for the Gaborone derby next week,” Seabo said.

Extension Gunners which played poor run of form, currently sees them with 14 points from 27games can be attributed to the fact that they have only assembled a new team and worstΒ  part being having changed coaches time and again leading Relegating Extension Gunners .The Caretaker Executive members has also admitted that changing of coaches during the course of the season has destabilized their progress adding that it is unfortunate that in many instances they found it inevitable to change coaches.

Gunners is expected to play against former Premiership Champions Mochudi Centre Chiefs, Prisons, Notwane and Mogoditshane Fighters for next season 2023-2024 playing season.
