Botswana referee Itumeleng Beauty Methikga will be the first female referee to officiate the opening match of the Hollywoodbets COSAFA Women’s Championship 2022. Methikga is expected to officiate the game between Mauritius and Mozambique today (Wednesday August 31).
Methikga will be assisted by Lidwine Pelagie Rakotozafinoro as Assistant Referee 1 from Madagascar and Maneo Evodia Tau as Assistant Referee 2 from South Africa. Nteboheleng Theresia Setoko from Lesotho will serve as the fourth official.
The opening match will take place today (August 31) at 12:00 noon at Nelson Mandela Bay Stadium.
